2027: Makinde Strengthens Media Team with Amos Dunia Appointment

The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has appointed veteran journalist and publisher, Amos Dunia, as Special Adviser on Public Affairs.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement issued on Friday by Richard Ihediwa, Director of Strategic Communications of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO).

According to the statement, Dunia brings extensive experience in broadcast and print journalism, public communication and media management to the campaign organisation.

Dunia has worked with several Nigerian media organisations, including the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), New Nigerian Newspapers, The Sun Newspapers and Blueprint Newspapers. He is also a co-founder of Forefront Magazine and its online news platform.

He previously served as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, and later as a national consultant to the union on political and union matters.

The campaign organisation said Dunia would deploy his experience as a journalist, public commentator, communications professional and publisher in his new role.

As Special Adviser on Public Affairs, he is expected to work with other communication professionals in promoting the Makinde/Daura campaign and communicating its “Reset Nigeria” agenda ahead of the 2027 general election.

Makinde, whose running mate is former Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Musa Daura, has been campaigning on the “Reset Nigeria” platform, with emphasis on the economy, security, education and governance.

The APM presidential candidate, according to the statement, urged members and supporters of the campaign and the party to remain committed to its political objectives ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He said the campaign would continue to promote its message of national stability, cohesion and economic prosperity as it seeks the support of Nigerians in the election.
