2027: ‘One ADC Movement’ unveiled to end internal friction, boost party unity

In a strategic bid to fortify its ranks ahead of future political cycles, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially launched the “One ADC Movement,” a grassroots-driven initiative aimed at eliminating internal divisions and fostering party-wide reconciliation.

Speaking at the public unveiling in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the movement, Mrs. Lauretta Onuchie declared that the initiative was born out of a necessity to prove that political parties can rise above “individual ambitions” to serve the broader interests of Nigerians.

“Today is not just another political event; it is a statement of unity. The One ADC Movement is built on the principle that unity is the greatest strength of any political party.

“We are here to choose the path of coming together stronger rather than walking away divided”, the Coordinator stated.

She emphasized that a core pillar of the One ADC Movement is to support reconciliation after internal contests and to discourage “anti-party activities” that undermine the collective goal.

The movement arrives at a time when internal party friction often plagues Nigerian politics following primary elections.

Also, the movement outlined a comprehensive roadmap to strengthen the ADC, which includes: Direct engagement strategies to bring marginalized groups into the party’s decision-making fold, reaffirming loyalty to the party’s collective decisions, and mobilizing Nigerians at the ward and local government levels to join the ADC.

“Great political parties are not built only during election seasons,” the Coordinator noted, adding that the movement would work across states and generations to ensure every member’s voice is heard.

The unveiling concluded with a charge to party members to act as “bridge-builders” in their various communities.

With the slogan “One Party, One Vision, One Movement,” the ADC looks to position itself as a disciplined and unified alternative in the Nigerian democratic space.

As the movement transitions from its unveiling to what the Coordinator called “building momentum,” political observers suggest this could be a pivotal step in the ADC’s quest to expand its influence nationwide.

On his part, the Director of mobilisation , Umar Shuaibu, said following the unveiling of the movement will become visible nationwide, and work towards defeating the “corrupt regime” in Nigeria come 2027.
