From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna
The Executive Chairman of Sanga Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Anto Usman, has stated that the council aims to secure 95 percent of the vote for Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Usman explained that this target is based on the administration’s development efforts in Sanga and its commitment to mobilizing residents to support the governor and other APC candidates at the polls.
Speaking in an interview, the chairman highlighted that Sanga has seen notable development under Governor Sani, noting the construction of a 10-kilometer road, the ongoing renovation and redesign of the General Hospital, and the revitalization of primary healthcare centers throughout the local government.
He also pointed to the approval of a satellite campus for Kaduna State University and other initiatives as evidence of the governor’s focus on the area, which he said was relatively backward for many years.
According to him, residents of Sanga have benefited from the government’s interventions in infrastructure, healthcare, education, security, and human capital development.
Usman also praised Governor Sani for approving a 100 percent increase in the wages of traditional rulers, calling it “a very good step in the right direction” and a morale booster given the current economic challenges.
He stated that the council is “very, very ready” to reciprocate this support, noting that efforts are already underway to mobilize backing for the President, the governor, and other APC candidates.
The chairman noted that Sanga has between 35,000 and 40,000 registered voters and is optimistic the local government can deliver about 95 percent support for the party.
He clarified that the remaining 5% should not necessarily be viewed as opposition, as some registered voters may be unable to participate in the election for various reasons.
Usman also commended the relationship between the local government and security agencies, urging greater deployment of personnel to bolster ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in Sanga.
