Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered more benefits to Northern Nigeria than any previous leader, urging the region to rally behind him ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The governor also expressed confidence that the President would secure overwhelming support across the North, projecting at least 70 per cent of votes in Kaduna State and describing it as a “solid APC stronghold.”
Sani made the remarks while hosting members of the Presidential Media Team and selected journalists at a state banquet in Kaduna. The delegation is currently on a tour of North-West states to assess ongoing federal and state government projects.
According to the governor, despite criticisms on social media, President Tinubu’s performance on ground would translate into electoral victory.
“If elections are conducted on social media, the outcome may differ, but in actual voting, President Tinubu will record a decisive nationwide victory,” he said.
He maintained that there is no formidable opposition to the President or the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna, attributing this to ongoing federal interventions and infrastructure development in the state.
Sani cited the approval of major rail and road projects worth billions of naira in Kaduna as evidence of the administration’s commitment to the region, noting that such investments would stimulate economic growth upon completion.
He further pointed to increased financial allocations to states, which he said had enabled sub-national governments to deepen development at the grassroots and improve service delivery.
“President Tinubu has done so much for the North. I can boldly say his administration has delivered more than any previous government. The evidence is clear, from infrastructure to economic support,” he said.
The governor also referenced the approval of a major project in Kano State valued at nearly N1 trillion, describing it as part of a broader pattern of federal commitment to Northern development.
On the political outlook, Sani insisted that no region, including the South-West, would match the North in support for Tinubu in 2027.
“There is no opposition in Kaduna against President Tinubu. We make no apologies for that. Given his support to the state and its people, victory is assured,” he added.
Reflecting on the President’s political history, the governor described Tinubu as a committed democrat and veteran of the pro-democracy struggle, while cautioning against anti-democratic tendencies.
He urged Nigerians to safeguard democratic governance, warning against calls for military intervention.
“We must protect and sustain our democracy. Those advocating military rule have not experienced its consequences,” Sani said.
