About 2,236 pioneering graduates of the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) are participating in the ongoing National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Course ahead of their national service.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by Mr Ilesanmi Obanla, Coordinator, Information and Public Relations Unit, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, LASUED.
The statement described the participation of the graduates in the NYSC programme as a historic milestone for the university.
It congratulated the university’s management, staff, students and the entire LASUED community on the achievement.
The statement also included photographs of some of the graduates at their respective NYSC orientation camps.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that LASUED became a university on Feb. 2, 2022, following the merger and upgrading of two legacy colleges of education by the Lagos State Government.
The two institutions were the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Oto/Ijanikin, and the Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Noforija, Epe.
The development marked a major step in the transformation of the institutions into a university dedicated to teacher education and related disciplines.
