The authority of the University of Abuja has graduated a total number of ten thousand three hundred and thirty-one (10,331) students in the institution.
The Vice-chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdul-rasheed Na’allah who made this known during the 24th convocation ceremony, held at the permanent site of the University on Saturday.
Na’allah disclosed that 26 students out of 10,331 graduands came out with first class degrees.
He said the plans are underway to hold the convocation ceremony every year in order to move the University to a greater height.
The Vice-Chancellor advised the graduating students to be good ambassador of the University wherever they found themselves.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abubakar Rasheed who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the occasion, urged the authorities of Nigerian Universities and other higher institutions to start to focus on entrepreneurial skills of their students.
Buhari said the education curriculum must focus on the development of entrepreneurial skills, noting that the Government alone could not create jobs for Nigerians.
The graduation ceremony featured the conferment of honorary degrees on personalities who had contributed to the nation-building.
