There are indications that three Zamfara state local government Chairmen and six serving Commissioners may resign their positions and dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
This came as the representatives of thousands of sacked civil servants of the state held a secret meeting yesterday in Gusau, the state capital, allegedly facilitated by the son of a minister who vowed to ensure their reinstatement through change of government by vote come 2015.
Impeccable source, who presided over the secret meeting, told our reporter under anonymity that thousands of aggrieved dismissed workers across the state were mobilised by the Minister who promised to secure sources of living for them under the condition that they should join the PDP to oust the incumbent Governor Abdulazeez Yari.
He contended that even the 3 serving local government Chairmen and six Commissioners were in the full light of the crusade to dump the ruling APC for PDP being the only way those who lost their jobs would regain same.
“Both the local government Chairmen and the Commissioners were convinced that the administration of Governor Yari has woefully failed for his refusal to reconcile with the sacked workers after re-verification, as well as aggrieved politicians and women who are yet to receive empowerment as promised during his campaign days”, the source stressed.
He further narrated that prior to the movement, the local government Chairmen of the state through ALGON had allegedly sat with Governor Yari at a number of times seeking for more funds that could be enough to execute developmental projects for their people. But the Governor was allegedly found too creaky on the matter.
