30 Adamawa communities petition Assembly over Girei chairman’s alleged land racketeering

Thirty (30) communities of Girei/Jabbi-Lamba and Environs have petitioned the Adamawa state House of Assembly over alleged illegal sale of ten(10) hectares of their farmlands by Executive Chairman of Girei Local government Area,Hon.Joda Misa.
Spokesman of the group,Ahijo Yakubu made the development known at a press conference in Yola on Thursday, accusing the council chairman of selling their ancestral land to his cronies for reasons best known to him.
Yakubu said the communities found out that the 10 hectares were sold to the councillor representing Modire ward stressing that another 500 hectares of farmland have been earmarked for sale out of the same farmlands.
Yakubu maintained that the affected communities met and resolved unanimously to write and complain to the state legislature.
