No fewer than 180 undergraduates have graduated with first-class degree in Bayero University Kano, BUK.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas disclosed this at a press conference as part of activities marking the 38th convocation ceremony of the institution on Monday.
According to him, a total of 11,000 postgraduate and undergraduate students, graduating from various departments and faculties are expected to participate in this year’s convocation.
He said this year , 370 students have graduated with PhD, while 3,770 with Masters Degree.
MAbbas hinted that the university would also present Honorary Doctorate awards to the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin and the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adeshina as part of their supports to the institution.
He added that Aliko Dangote is going to deliver a lecture with a title, “Role of Private Sector in Building a Sustainable Economic in Nigeria” during the convocation.
The VC stated that BUK is recording breakthrough as it has been ranked 5th best university in Nigeria.
