The 4th edition of Governor Peter Mbah annual football competition got underway in Enugu on Saturday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. The competition features football teams from the ministries and parastatals in the state
In the opening match, the Permanent Secretaries defeated defending Champions, Judiciary 1-0 to begin their quest on a brighter note.
The lone goal was scored by Jude Offia in the second-half of the entertaining clash
The Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Ajogwu, performed the tradition kick-off on behalf of the Governor.
The competition is was designed and organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, to keep state functionaries fit, healthy as well as forester friendship and positive social bonding among the staff.
The competition which is a round-robin format, includes teams from the – State Executive, Legislative, Judiciary, Local government Council and the Permanent Secretaries who will contest for the coveted trophy .
The competition will end next week. Winners of the competition will go home with ₦1million prize.
