518 communities to benefit from FG cash transfer programme in Jigawa

No fewer than 518 communities are estimated to benefit with Conditional Cash Transfer through federal government social investment programme in Jigawa state.
This was disclosed by the Jigawa state deputy governor Alhaji Umar Namadi while launching the Community Based Training Team (CBTT) yesterday at Manpower development institute Dutse.
Namadi said, the training which was organised by the State Operation Coordinating Unit (SOCU) in collaboration with National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) would boost the economy in the state.
The deputy governor who charged the enumerators to fear God in the process of selecting beneficiaries, assured state government support toward success of the programme.
While making his remarks, the coordinator Social Investment Programme (SIP) Jigawa state Alhaji Bala Usman Chamo explained that, this is the second batch of the programme and about 18 out of 27 local governments that constituted about 518 communities in the state are expected to benefit from the programme.
According to him a number of 108 enumerators and 216 Community Based Training Team are selected to be trained on how to select a genuine poor people for the programme.
He then, commended the federal government and governor Muhammad Abubakar Badaru for their support toward the making the programme a reality in Jigawa state.
