Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to attracting global partnerships that will boost education and economy of the state.
Yusuf, while speaking on the outcome of Kano’s participation at 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, High Level week in New York, announced new opportunities for school feeding programmes, health interventions, and foreign investments.
The Governor was represented by the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sunusi II, alongside the Director General of the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency, Kan-Invest, Muhammad Halliru.
Sanusi met with Kenyan entrepreneur, Wawira Njiru, founder and CEO of Food4Education, to explore collaboration on school feeding in Kano including access to African Development Bank, AFDB, funds dedicated to such programmes.
Yusuf said these engagements portrays his administration’s quest to position Kano as Nigeria’s leading investments hub.
“Our investment agenda is already yielding results. By building global partnerships, we are strengthening our economy, improving the wellbeing of our people, and laying the foundation for sustainable development,” the governor stated.
He also stated that the state would soon unveil a five-year multi-sectoral investment strategic plan to boost revenue and attract investors.
