Gombe gets new Commissioner of Police

Gombe state Police Command yesterday said it has received a newly police commissioner posted to the state.
The out-gone Gombe Police Commissioner, Mr. Austin Iwar disclosed this in Gombe while handing over to the newly posted commissioner.
He said he is overwhelmed and also sad to deliver his last address as part of ceremony of handing over leadership of the command to new commissioner of police to Gombe state.
He appreciated officers and Gombe state government and the entire people in the state for supporting the command during his tenure in crime prevention and community safety strategy implemented by the state command.
Iwar further said as result of hard work, crime rate recorded in the state has drastically reduce to 20 percent from the month of January to August 2017.
The out-gone commissioner also affirmed that the menace of Kalare group have been suppressed to barest minimum, adding that social crime prevention driven by the Gombe state youth empowerment programme assisted tremendously in reducing crime in the state.
He thank stakeholders for their support during his tenure urging that the sacrifice rendered in order to make Gombe a free crime can never be emphasized.
In his acceptance speech, the in-coming Gombe state police commissioner Mr. Shina T. Olukolu thank the Inspector- General of Police for finding him worthy to serve and promise to rendered services inorder to protect lives and property of citizens.
He promise to operate and open door policy and called on the people not relent in given useful information to the police.
The new CP also assure the state of total commitment noting that his administration would continue where the out-gone commissioner left.
