Following attacks and counter attacks in and around the villages of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau state, the state Police headquarters has donated helicopter and 3 police units to carry out air surveillance in the area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna, told journalists that; “the police headquarters has donated helicopter to carry out air surveillance in the area. And the Police Commissioner has posted three units of Mobile Police force to intensify patrol and to make sure that attacks on the area are not carried out,” he added.
The PPRO, said there was an attempt of attack on a community close to the one that was attack previously, but was repealed due to prompt response by the police, assuring the members of the public to go about their normal business He stressed that investigation is ongoing, to make sure that the perpetrators of the act were brought to book.
He said state governor, commissioner of police and other top government functionaries have visited the community.
As at the time of filing this report, our correspondent learnt that Governor Simon Lalong, was billed to address the state on the matter.
