The erstwhile Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, has described the exit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from APC and his anticipated return to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other defections to the party looming across the country as ‘clear’ frustration of Nigerians against the ruling party.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, at the weekend, resigned his membership from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, hinging his decision to the inability of ruling party’s inability to meet the yearnings of Nigerians.
Moro maintained that Nigerians are wiser than they were before 2015 general elections when they were deceived to vote for the change that never came. The former minister said what the nation is experiencing now is a new trend where people are now abandoning ruling party to join opposition party.
According to him, “the coming of Atiku to PDP is a new lesson in Nigerian democracy; it adds to the growing frustration of Nigerians with the APC governments.
“Recall that only recently there was a massive decamping of APC members in Benue State to the PDP. It is a new development where people abandon comfort zone (ruling party) to join the opposition party. This means that people are saying the APC is unable to manage the party and the polity. Atiku’s return to PDP will certainly alter the dimension of political discourse in Nigeria,” Moro concluded.
