The Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, has led the campaign towards the eradication of polio myelitis and other preventable deadly diseases affecting mostly women and Children.
The royal father also made a royal pledge on behalf of his subjects yesterday to raise disciples that would take the message of sensitisation and awareness to the grassroots and hinterland to eradicate the scourge.
The Monarch disclosed this at his palace when he received the task force on routine Immunisation and campaign against measles led by Edo state deputy governor, Mr Philips Shuaibu.
He charged researchers to develop drugs that could tackle the devastating effects of polio, malaria and other related diseases ravaging the society, assuring that the exercise would bring a lot of relief to the people of the state.
He also pledged his palace commitment aimed at ensuring that sensitizing the urban and the rural populace on the dangers of not immunizing their Children and wards.
In his address, the leader of the team, Mr Philips Shuaibu, told Omo N’Oba that they were at the palace to informed him of the former kick off of the routine immunisation and campaign against measles as well as seek his Royal statement as the paramount ruler of the Edo state.
