Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Sulaiman Asonya Adokwe has condemned absolutely the recent killing of seven Tiv People in kadarko town in Keana local government of Nasarawa State.
The senator who made the condemnation in a press statement made available to our correspondent in Lafia the state capital yesterday, said that the incessant attack and counter attacks on innocent citizens especially Tiv people in some parts of the state was unwarranted and barbaric.
The lawmaker further advocated for the continued presence of security agencies in the affected communities in the state in order to stop the killing.
He added that in a bid to put an end to the senseless killing, government and people must be proactive towards ensuring the protection of lives and property across the state and the affected senatorial zone in particular.
Adokwe who expressed discomfort over the ugly incident, said “ No society develops in an atmosphere of acrimony “
While commiserating with the families of the victims of the recent killings in Kadorko, Senator Adokwe, assured the people of his senatorial zone of his determination to amply support them at all times.
According to him “Security operatives should be allow to remain in the affected communities until when normally is absolutely restored. People should be vigilant of suspected movement in the area. I urged all communities to be calm”
The lawmaker, however, applauded security agencies for their swift action aimed at protecting lives of innocent people; urged the communities to sustain peace , progress and development of the state and country at large.
