Bwari chair moves to block leakages in IGR channel

Date:

All revenue accruing to the Bwari Area Council must be paid directly into the council’s designated bank account to be appropriately receipted, according to the Executive chairman of the Council, Musa Dikko.
Dikko explained that the directive has become necessary, as it is part of efforts to block leakages in the council’s projected internal revenue collection in the year 2018.
He reiterated that the council will not tolerate fraudulent deals and transactions in the collection of revenue.
He further explained that the decision is part of steps adopted to address issues of under-remittance and non-remittance of internally generated revenue which is the backbone of his administration.
According to him, the administration needs strong financial base to complete the following projects: construction of Kukwaba motor transit park and market, Mpape 11 market, maitama village market, Dawaki electronics/telecommunication market, Shagari market in Dei Dei, Byazhin market and the Dei-Dei market that is yet to kick off.
“I am more than ready to take up any culpable person or group of persons or any tax paying entity on any issue of shoddy/fraudulent deals and transactions,” the Council boss stressed.
