Fierce crisis of confidence have continued to unsettle the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, leaving six of its chieftains suspended.
It was gathered that the suspension of the six chieftains, especially the former House of Representatives member, Godwin Elumelu, by one Julius Egoh, the party’s secretary in the area, had triggered the fear of the unknown within the party.
Expectedly, trouble had been brewing within the party over the years in an alleged supremacy of powers by those purported to be usurpers; a situation and measures that had not gone down well with many of the party’s loyalists in the state.
In a statement issued by Julius Egoh, the party’s secretary in Aniocha North, a copy made available to our reporter, stated that arising from an enlarged Exco Meeting of the party (PDP) on Friday 16 february, 2018, at the party’s secretariat in Issele-Uku, the following persons; Ndudi Elumelu, barr. Kress Njiokwuemeni, Chuks Oseme, Michael Osuoza, Emma Eboh, and Kaikene Okodie were suspected indefinitely, adding that the decision further suspension, was unanimously reached after a curson look at their anti-party activities. Part of the statement reads: “the indefinite suspension of the six persons would serve as deterrent to uncultured elements within the party, who may want to cause crises at any given opportunity for personal interest”.
Meanwhile, the statement affirmed that the purported suspension of Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, member representing Aniocha North at the state House of Assembly, and five others, was a figment of the imagination of Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, the State Publicity Secretary of the party.
