Abducted Syrian engineer regains freedom

A Syrian engineer kidnapped in Sokoto last week by suspected gunmen has regained his freedom.
The Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Cordelia Nwawe confirmed this while presenting the victim before journalists on Tuesday at the Command Headquarters.
Cordelia claimed that the kidnappers freed their abductee without receiving ransom in any form.
She added that, the abductors dropped the victim at Arkilla area of Sokoto metropolis at about 12 am, midnight, and escaped without traces.
The victim, Abdul Nasir who was present at the press conference declined to comment on his experience during captivity.
Recall that, the engineer, was kidnapped by four gunmen at a quarry site of a Triacta Construction company at Lambar Mazuru along Sokoto-Tambuwal highway.
The gunmen also killed three policemen patrolling the area in an ambush as they escape from the crime scene.
The construction firm has since donated the sum of one million naira each to the families of the deceased officers.
