The Director Council (WCC) General National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and President World Craft Council (WCC) Otunba Runsewe, said tourism industry will drive the Nigeria economy to the next levels of greater results and achievement.
Runsewe made the assertion yesterday during a press briefing in Abuja, saying that all the stakeholders in industry have come together to ensure that tourism is one thing that will grow the economy.
He said that a lots of our Nigerian carnivals are foreign; it is high time we stick to our culture because tourism industry alone contributes 18.9% of Nigeria Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
While, lamenting that, on the issues at hand parting the association problem, he said “ every association has it owned challenging just like National Association of Tour Operations (NATOP) and others association in the sector , all of the associations are stakeholders that drive the industry oil.” For you to become a championed you must have challenges”
“Today we are here because many stories have got out, observation, opinions are out ,we also here today as one of the leaders of the industry to attest and tell you that we are track to move forward, making sure very thing works smoothly without escalation.”
“Secondly, we have been able to speak to all stakeholders in industry,
there was an intervention and reconciliation process which has been done already, we have find solutions and have solved all the problems on ground, once there is no information you give room for rumours.
Consequently, The President of WCC maintained’’ All the issues of elections are under control and we are on top of the matter.”

Meanwhile, the President of Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN),Salihu Rabo,who said tourism need adequate funding and infrastructure that will make the industry more vibrant for investors to have good access to achieved .
