Sokoto Gov’t supports victims of terrorist attacks in Kebbe

The Sokoto State Government has continued to demonstrate its commitment to the welfare, security and wellbeing of communities affected by security challenges.
 To this effect, a delegation constituted by the Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, led by the Commissioner for Religious affairs, Prof. Jabir Sani Maihulla, has visited Kebbe Local Government Area to condole with families affected by the recent terrorist attacks and provide financial and food assistance to the victims.
The delegation presented ₦8 million in financial assistance and food items to the families of eight deceased victims, with each family receiving ₦1 million and five bags of food items.
Similarly, four injured victims received a total of ₦1 million, with each victim receiving ₦250,000, alongside three bags each of rice, millet and maize.
While addressing the affected families and the people of kebbe, the chairman of the delegation, Prof. Jabir Sani Maihulla, expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences over the unfortunate incident.
 He further appealed to the families to remain steadfast and assured them that the governor is deeply concerned and greatly saddened by what happened.
He emphasized that the governor is doing everything within his capacity to address the security challenges, including providing operational vehicles, logistical support and other necessary assistance to security agencies to strengthen their operations and support efforts towards bringing the activities of the terrorists to an end.
The  Chairman of Kebbe Local Government Council, Hon. Musa Garba Kuchi, lauded Governor Aliyu for the timely intervention, compassion and continued support to the people of kebbe, particularly during periods of crisis.
He commended the state government for its continuous efforts to strengthen security and ensure that affected communities receive the necessary attention and support.
The Chairman reaffirmed that, at the local government level, the council will continue to provide every necessary support within its capacity to security agencies, including logistical assistance, timely information sharing and cooperation.
He called on the people of Kebbe to continue praying to Allah SWT for His intervention, lasting peace, security and relief across the affected communities.
The District Head of Kebbe, Alhaji Lawali Labbo Margai and the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Bala Kokani, also commended the state government for its continued concern and interventions.
The delegation includes the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area, Alhaji Abba Shehu; Special Advisers to the Governor, Hon. Garba Maitunbi and Hon. Bello Garba; as well APC leaders from the two LGAs.
