The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kaduna State Command, has said it would deploy over 3,000 personnel in the state to protect lives and property during today’s Eid-El-Fitr celebration in the state.
The Deputy Commandant of Corps, Aloysius Onyeama Nnegha disclosed this while stating the command’s readiness to contend security challenges during and after the festivity.
He also revealed that the corps will ensure surveillance around worship centres, markets, recreational facilities and infrastructure.
Nnegha called on members of the public to collaborate with NSCDC and other agencies by timely reporting any suspected person(s), acts and movements which are capable and or may pose security threats in the state.
While warning youths, hoodlums and drug addicts to stave-off suspected black spots and desists from crime, Nnegha vowed that the command will continue to comb all flash points to prevent unlawful assemblies which result in crimes.
He further stressed that criminals including kidnappers, armed robbers and gangsters like Yan-shara should desist from their nefarious acts or face the wrath of the law, stating that every lawful measures will be taken in order to arrest and punish perpetrators of such dastard acts.
The Deputy Commandant maintained that regular patrols and pin down would be ensured to pave way for peaceful celebration.
Nhegha enjoined parents and guardians to advise their wards to shun company of unknown persons under the guise of celebration.
Similarly Kaduna Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned skaters in the state to stay off the roads or have their skating shoes confiscated.
The Sector Commander, Umar Ibrahim, who gave the warning) said that the measure was to prevent accidents and loss of lives to skating during Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
Umar said instead of skating in or around the stadium, the skaters, mostly teenagers, dangerously skate on township roads and highways, putting their lives and others’ at risk.
According to him, such recklessness must be addressed, particularly during the Sallah celebration.
