The Acting Governor of Niger state, Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, has slammed critics of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, in the state over claims of non performance, describing them as politically naive.
Ketso stated this at the weekend in a chat with members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at their new office in Minna, the state capital.
He added that they are naïve politicians, who are blind to the numerous achievements recorded by the present administration within the last three years in office; hence he will not be distracted.
Speaking further, he advised critics of the administration to refresh their memories on completed and ongoing transformation projects being executed by the administration across the state.
He added, “I expect people to cast their minds back to the deplorable condition of the state when we took over three years ago and the transformation that has taken place within the short period instead of playing politics of false claims”.
Ketso noted with dismay that the achievements of the administration were visible everywhere, except for those who had deliberately chosen to keep blind eyes in recognizing such feats.
The Acting Governor explained that those throwing mudsling at the administration were disgruntled politicians desperate for power in 2019, adding “despite the antics of these critics, Governor Sani Bello is qualified, he has been endorsed for second term by the APC in the state and he will retain the mandate of the people in 2019”.
He stressed that the recently concluded APC congresses in the state had recorded over 98 percent success, adding that the party was more prepared to take responsibility of government in 2019.
“Niger state has performed creditably well in the conduct of the recent APC congresses. I am sure that we recorded over 98 percent success at the congresses from ward to state levels. We have also commenced the reconciliation of those who were aggrieved for one reason or the other. We have set up a committee to reconcile and bring members under one fold”, he stated.
