GSS Hajj Camp: 126 students Excel in WAEC

A total number of one hundred and twenty-six students of the Government Secondary School (GSS) Hajj Camp in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) who sat for West African Examination Council (WAEC) in 2017/2018 have scored credits in their various subjects including English language and Mathematics.
The principal of the school, Alhaji Abubakar Gambo Ibrahim disclosed this while addressing the parents during the PTA general meeting of the school on Saturday.
Ibrahim said the management of the school as well the teachers would continue to provide a qualitative education for the students in the institution.
He charged the parents/guardians to purchase the necessary text books for their children, expressing dismay that many students came to the school without writing materials at their disposal.
The principal also urged the parents to give priority attention to the education of their children always, while calling on them to support the management of the school in all ramifications.
Also speaking at the event, the chairman of PTA in the school, Alhaji Nuhu Azare, assured the parents that the administration of PTA would continue to provide the needed facilities for the students to enhance learning.
Azare advised the parents to checkmate the activities of their children against drug abuse and other social vices.
The chairman, however, explained that one of his children got nine credits in the recent WAEC result being released to the school.
In a chat with the Assistant Examination Officer of the school, Mr. Abubakar Alao, said the students who sat for WAEC in 2017/2018 performed well, pointing out that the three students are waiting for their WAEC result.
Meanwhile, some of the parents who spoke during the PTA meeting commended the principal for providing a conducive environment for the students in the school.
