FG committed to development of infrastructure -Fashola

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing,Babatunde Fashola, has stated that President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration has truly committed to develop the decayed infrastructure in Nigeria which it inherited from the past government even when it has limited resources at her disposal.
Fashola made the disclosure while receiving , in audience, the former Minister of Mines and Steel Development and the Governor Elect of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi who paid him a courtesy call, in his office recently.
A statement signed by DD (Information) M. A Ahmed said He revealed that he does not envy the Governor- Elect because of the myriad of problems and challenges that the present leadership has to contend with in the quest of trying to bridge the infrastructure gap and at the same time ensures that farmers reap the bounty of their labour.
The Minister noted that the developmental initiative of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is how to bring the dividends of Democracy to Nigerians irrespective of political affiliation, state or tribe. According to him “our development initiatives are party blind, they are Nigerian centered. This visit brings it to a sharper focus and more oriented.”
He enjoined his guest to move development to grassroots while in office and support the farmers, the working class and not to depend so much on the grid in providing electricity to Ekiti people.
Fashola congratulated the Governor-elect for his success during the last contested Gubernatorial election and wished him the very best in governance and development of Ekiti State, stressing that as one time governor, he is in no doubt that he would be guided with experience in discharge of his duties.
Earlier, the Governor–Elect of Ekiti State, Dr. KayodeFayemi disclosed that his mission for the courtesy call on his brother and friend is to identify areas of mutual interest on how to eventually rebuild the Federal road network and rural electrification projects in Ekiti state, adding that Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing is a vital ministry which has the mandate to make our infrastructural development functional.
