The newly elected executives of Gwagwalada main Market Traders Association in the FCT have been sworn-in by a legal luminary, Barr. Suleiman Umar at the premises of the market on Monday.
The new officials are: Alhaji Mohammed Nura Rimi; chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Opeyemi; vice chairman, Mr. Ikechukwu E. Nwabilo; secretary general, Bashir Musa; assistant secretary, Alhaji Sabiu Bala; treasurer, Stephen Udofia Okon; financial secretary and Anthony O. Ngene; chief provost.
Others included: Ayizo Maimunat Mohammed; assistant provost, Liman Usman; PRO, Chukwu E. Chibuzor; assistant PRO and Rakiya Shuaibu; Director of social.
In an interview at the occasion, the newly inaugurated chairman of the market, said he would work hand in hand with the traders to move the market forward.
He also said he would continue to partner with the management of Gwagwalada Area Council to put in place the needed facilities in the market.
Rimi therefore, appealed to the traders of the market not to increase the price of their goods during Christmas festivities.
Speaking earlier, the vice chairman of the Area council, Alhaji Mohammed Kasimu, urged the officials to administer the traders with the fear of God.
Kasimu said the administration of the council would carry the officials of the market along in the scheme of things in the interest of the marketers.
