Group decries inadequacy of education facilities in Gombe

A group known as Gombe North Unity and Development Association( GONUDA) has decried inadequacy of education in the zone.
The group noted that Gombe North has the largest number of Out-of-School children..
Chairman Board of Trustees of the Group, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Kafarati made this known yesterday in Gombe while briefing journalists in some of their achievements within the group.
He said due to scarcity of teachers in the zone has resulted a large number of children out of school and that lack of social amenities is another issue that affect the area.
According to him, state of literacy is worsen which he said parents remain sceptical to encourage school enrollment of their children in schools.
He called on Gombe state government to re-open the affected boarding Schools of GC Nafada, GSS Dukku, and GGSS Malala which was closed down due to security challenges, adding that the security situation has greatly improved in the area.
The board chairman while advocating for revamping and expansion of health facilities in the zone said medical facilities within the four local government areas in the zone are oversubscribed and stretched.
The endemic in the state has worst index and this scourge is a sign of under development and has negative impact the board chairman said.
He revealed that that Gombe north Senatorial district has the highest unemployment in the state noting that there is an ongoing rural-urban migration which according to him has course problem.
