Group takes sanitation exercise to markets in Edo

A non-Governmental organization Creative Hands Initiative has embarked on markets and street cleaning in Benin metropolis towards preventing contagious diseases arising from poor health condition1-
The cleanup exercise which took place at the major markets, including Oba market and streets in Oredo council area, was geared towards reducing the dangers of imminent health hazards posed by unhealthy environment to market women and traders
Miss Sonia Obasuyi, the founder of the initiative, said apart from promoting good health, the initiative was to meaningfully contribute to the effort of the government in ensuring clean a environment in the state.
According to miss Obasuyi, path of the vision of her initiative is to cover eighteen council areas across the state before extending the cleanup exercise to other parts of the country
While calling on relevant authorities for assistance she enjoined market women and traders to always carry out sanitation around their surrounding
Some of traders and market women Mrs Osahon Okundia, Agnes Mabel and Sehu Yahaya, commended the effort of Miss Obasuyi, stressing that more needs to be done in order to keep the environment clean.
