The leadership of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) has declared total support to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari for this month’s general elections.
The Chairman of RIFAN in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Abubakar Dahiru who made this declaration while addressing the rice farmers during the town hall meeting on Saturday in Gwagwalada, said that Buhari had done a lot to the rice farmers in the territory.
He commended President Buhari for the necessary steps being taken to provide the needed farm inputs and other facilities for the farmers of the association.
He noted that Buhari had empowered the farmers of the association through the Anchor Borrowers programme of the Federal Government.
Dahiru, however, advised the farmers to deem it necessary to pay all the farm loans collected from the government of the day, so as to enable the government to give them more loans for their farm activities.
Our correspondent reports that the officials of CBN, Nigerian Prisons Service, Agro – allied farmers and among other stakeholders attended the town hall meeting of RIFAN .
