JIBWIS tasks Buhari, Atiku on peaceful campaign

As the 2019 general elections draws closer, the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’ikamatis Sunnah ( JIBWIS), has tasked the President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress ( APC), and the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), Atiku Abubakar on peaceful campaigns.
The Chairman Ulama Council of the group, Sheik Sani Yahaya Jingir, made the call during the group’s Annual Islamic Convention held in Abuja.
According to Jingir, politics was not a “do or die “ affairs, calling on both Buhari and Atiku to engage in issued base campaign rather than calling one another all sorts of names.
He further called on supporters of various candidates to conduct themselves accordingly, adding violence was not often the solution disagreement.
“ I called on both Buhari and Atiku to engage in issued base campaign. Politics is something that would come and go and for that reason, there is no need to curse each. Let there be peaceful campaign, “ he said
Jingir, however harped on the urgent pressing need from individuals to contribute to the progressive and development of education at strata in Nigeria.
He said:” Education is the bedrock of every development of human endeavours, which requires adequate planing and funding.”
According to Jingir, JIBWIS in existence has witnessed tremendous development in the education sector, stressing that many schools at both pre-premiary, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.
“We are gathered here is to work for the progress of education, that we have been doing this fund raising for months and years and people are not tired of giving out donations, is a sign that they are appreciating what they have been seeing us doing,” he added.
