Gov Badaru flags off N5.3bn Bolagu-Auno road project

The Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru has flagged off the construction of 41.2km Bolagu to Auno road in central and eastern parts of the state.
Speaking at flag-off ceremony of the road yesterday, Badaru explained that the contract was awarded at total sum of over N5.3 billion which according to him will salvage over twenty towns and villages from suffering.

He said, the project which covered many local governments started from Kiyawa local government and end at Kafin Hausa local government would link the central and eastern part of the state.
”We are embarking on this road construction to provide access road for our farmers to easily transport their farm produce to market in return to other needed goods and services,” Gov. Badaru said.
In his speech, the state Commissioner Ministry of Works and Transport, Eng Aminu Usman said, the project will link over 15 communities with access road.
According to him, if the project is completed it will ease the difficulties face by farmers in transporting their livestock and farm produce to market, also it would give them opportunities to access more goods and service such as healthcare and new farming techniques.
He however, revealed that, from 2015 to date the led governor Badaru administration injected over N96 billion in road construction.
In his remark, Chairman Gerawa Global Engineering Alhaji Is a Ahmad Gerawa who won the contract promised to complete the project within 13 month instead of 20 month signed in the contract agreement.
“I have already collected 20 percent mobilization funds, and base on the commitment of this government in paying contractors their money in time, I will do everything possible to deliver the work before the stipulated time for the benefits of the communities and state at large.”
