NGO to embark on community outreach in Nasarawa community

International Society of Media in Public Health (ISMPH) led by its Executive Director, Mrs. Moji Makanjuola in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) will this weekend hold health outreach at Roguwa community, Uke area in Nasarawa State.
A statement issued yesterday by Solomon Dogo, Senior Program Manager, said the
outreach entails free medical consultation and treatment of common ailments with drugs Which is powered by the NPHCDA as part of community involvement and ownership.
Makanjuola who is the Jakadiyan of Uke decided to adopt Roguwa last year when she visited the community with some Journalists and discovered the challenges of the people in accessing healthcare delivery service.
Some indigenes of Roguwa had narrated their ordeal to Makanjuola and the visiting journalists that they have lost many lives in the community due to the poor state of their Health Centre and non-availability of medical equipment and qualified medical personnel.
Roguwa has a population of about 4000 people.
It would be recalled that in August last year, the Executive Director had during a courtesy call on the Yakanajie of Uke, Alhaji Ahmed Abdullahi, reaffirmed that her organization would adopt Roguwa and also promised a health outreach to the community which is under Uke.
The veteran journalist also promised that the community would be supported in promoting food safety standards, especially among women so that people can eat healthy and live healthy.
