Some residents of Gwagwalada Area Council in the FCT have tongue-lashed the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for abandoning the cottage hospital situated in kutunku community in Gwagwalada along Jerrimiah Useni road which is under construction for so long now.
The inhabitants, who disclosed in separate interviews with correspondent in Gwagwalada , lamented that the Kutunku cottage hospital was neglected for the past ten years.
Mr Sani Abubakar, a resident in Kutunku, said it was regrettable that the cottage hospital that a lot of money was being spent for, was covered by the grasses.
Another resident, Tanimu Danladi, threw a challenge to the FCT Administration to intensify efforts to complete the abandoned hospital project.
Titus Mangut, a resident, expressed dismay the manner at which the hospital was abandoned without the concern of the FCT Administration, and called for the necessary attention by the government.
Lawal Ahmadu, a resident in the community, also expressed concern over the slow pace of work since the hospital project had been awarded, accusing the FCT Administration of playing politics over the project.
On his part, a retired medical professional living in Kutunku community, Alhaji Baba Yahaya Isah, called on the Public Health Department of the FCT Administration to deem it fit to mobilize the contractors to resume work.
Isah said if the Kutunku cottage hospital is completed, it would provide the needed health services to the entire people of Gwagwalada and its environs.
