Gov. Nyako sacks four government officials over fraud

In a bid to ensure efficiency and accountability in governance, Gov Murtala Nyako of Adamawa has approved the suspension of four government officials over alleged fraud in the state’s Post Primary School Management Board.

A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Administration, Government House Yola, Mallam Mohammed Sa’ad, indicated that the affected officers include Dahiru Gomina and Garba Kayari of e-payment department of the state Accountant General’s Office as well as Dauda Ali and Elam Sule of the Post-Primary Schools Management Board.

The statement further announced the replacement of the Executive Secretary of the Post Primary School Board, Mallam Ayuba Njidda with Hajiya Bilkisu Khalid while the removed secretary was directed to be re-assigned for another assignment elsewhere by the Ministry of Education in the state.

The statement said, “Following the recommendation of the committee on the investigation of fraud in the salary payroll of Adamawa state post primary school management board, Governor Murtala Nyako, has approved the suspension of Dahiru Gomina, Garba Kayari , Dauda Audu and Elam Sule.

“The above mentioned officers remain suspended until investigations are concluded.

“Meanwhile, Bilkisu Khalid has been appointed as the Executive Secretary Post Primary Schools Management Board, Yola while the former Executive Secretary is to be re-assigned by the state Ministry of Education”, the statement said.
