Tompolo’s Work Challenges Niger Delta Agitator Narrative — Ojogo

Date:

…Says patriotism, environmental protection drive Tantita chairman’s commitment to Nigeria
Hon. Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo has described the work of High Chief Government Oweizide Ekemepulo, popularly known as Tompolo, in protecting Nigeria’s critical national assets as evidence that Niger Delta stakeholders can contribute meaningfully to peace and national development.
Ojogo, who represented the Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited chairman at an event organised by the House of Representatives Press Corps, said Tompolo’s commitment to safeguarding the country’s resources was driven by patriotism and a determination to change perceptions about the people of the Niger Delta.
He said Tompolo’s involvement in national development went beyond protecting oil and gas infrastructure to include environmental preservation and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
“A greater part of it is the patriotism and also to give a fresh breath of perception to our people that we are always agitators. But this is a man who has come to contribute to peace and development,” Ojogo said.
He explained that the same determination Tompolo applied to protecting national assets was also evident in his commitment to preserving the environment, which he described as a resource belonging to all Nigerians.
“The same zeal with which he protects the national assets, the same zeal with which he protects the environment. The environment, as it is dear to him, is also an asset to all of us, even Nigerians,” he said.
Tompolo, through his company, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, is engaged by the Federal Government to provide security for oil and gas pipelines and related facilities amid efforts to tackle crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and other forms of economic sabotage.
Ojogo noted that protecting the country’s petroleum infrastructure remained crucial to sustaining production, safeguarding government revenue and promoting economic stability.
He said Nigeria had faced considerable challenges in securing its oil and gas resources, stressing the need for sustained commitment to protecting the country’s economic assets.
The Tantita chairman’s representative expressed confidence that Tompolo would continue contributing to national development and called for greater wisdom, strength and capacity for him to sustain his efforts.
“I can only pray for him, for God to give him more wisdom, more tenacity, more capacity to be able to deploy the wisdom that God has given him, for the benefit of Nigerians and humanity in general,” Ojogo said.
He also thanked the Press Corps for recognising Tompolo’s contributions, assuring that his principal remained committed to doing more for Nigeria and humanity.
Ojogo made the remarks while receiving the House of Representatives Press Corps’ 2026 Award of Excellence in National Assets Protection on Tompolo’s behalf.
