Many Nigerians are not aware of malnutrition -Dangote

The President of Dangote Group Aliko Dangote has said a lot of people are not really aware of the malnutrition problems existing in Nigeria.
The Africa’s richest man stated this in aYouTube channel in which he discussed the problem of malnutrition in Africa with Bill Gates.
He added that Malnutrition is such a gigantic problem. “Part of it is just getting enough food, but another part is getting various vitamins, micronutrients.
“You really want supplementation where you take the things that low-income households are buying and try to make sure that the iron, the vitamin A, a variety of other things are included with those foods” he said.
Giving more details on what his industries have contributed towards solving the malnutrition problem, Dangote explained how they have been fortifying their food products since the year 1998.
He concluded his explanation by mentioning that,” now, whatever food product the Dangote Group produces or sells, there are micronutrients in them”.
He also added that to ensure that the Dangote Group’s policy of fortifying food products with micronutrients is adhered to, they “… gathered thirteen of the CEOs that produce 80% of the foods that we sell in Nigeria and they committed to adding nutrients into whatever they are producing…” to which Gates added “… which will have a big impact on health”.
Dangote also expressed hopes of getting government regulatory bodies to enforce laws that can get food manufacturing companies to fortify their products with micronutrients “… and that can really help in terms of stopping malnutrition in Nigeria”, he ended.
Earlier Bill Gates pondered on how some people don’t recognize how important Nigeria is; that it is a single country with a quarter of Sub-Saharan Africa’s population living in it.
