Flood: Yauri LG boss appeals to FG for fund

An appealed has been made to the Federal Government and National Emergency Management Agency to assist the affected 935 households flood victims in Yauri Local Government area of Kebbi State.
The flood which submerged the houses of the people leaving in riverine area and their farms lands recently have been abandoned by the Government.
Addressing newsmen yesterday, the Sole administrator of Yauri Local Government council, Alhassan Adamu Birnin Yauri, said that the called is become necessary due to the suffering of the affected people.
He explained further that those affected have been evacuated from the place while they need urgent financial support to enable them resettled in their various new settlements.
“About 1,420 hectare of land were destroyed, so they need serious and urgent financial support, no lives were lost but properties and farms lands worth millions of naira were affected” he added.
Alhassan said that recently a committee was setup to reconcile farmers and Fulani herdsmen in the area, called on them to abide the rules of the committee in order for them to leave in peace with one another.
He then commended the efforts of the Kebbi State Government for providing them with necessary supports of the need of their people.
