Niger govt. assures Resident Doctors of enabling environment

The Niger State government has reiterated its commitment in sustaining an enabling environment for Residents Doctors and other health workers to ensure affordable, accessible and effective health care services in the state.
The Permanent Secretary of the Niger State Ministry of Health and Hospital Management, Dr Makun Sidi, disclosed this at a press briefing at Government House yesterday in Minna.
Dr Sidi said that no fewer than 50 projects were executed by the ministry consisting 38 direct Labour and the rest under contracts adding that N150 million has been spent on medical assistance annually hence the need to reverse the trends.
He explained that, the state is partnering with the Federal Government, World Bank, WHO, Bill Melinda Gate and dome donor agencies to enhanced international standard health service delivery in the state.
He hinted that IBB Specialist Hospital Minna will soon commence kidney transplant hence has 800 session of kidney dialysis annually at the rate of N15,000.
Sidi noted that the state government has paid a counterpart funds of N250 million off front for nutritional health care services with the World Bank who is yet to pay it’s part of N50 million for five years in strength.
