COREN inagurates C’mitees on EAB,Washington Accord Board in Abuja

To ensure effective and efficient service delivery of its mandate in the county, the Council for the Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria(COREN) yesterday inaugurated two committees.
The two Committees includes, the Committee for Washington Accord Application and the Committee on Regulations and Guidelines For Registration.
Speaking while inugurating the two Commitees yesterday, the President of COREN, Engineer Ali Rabiu charged members of the two Committees to live up to their mandate warning that any that is found wanting shall be shown the way out.
He explained further that the Washington Accord Committee has the mandate to further the COREN Application for Provisional Signatory Status to Washington Accord in the International Engineering Alliance.
On the rational for the forgoing Committee, the COREN boss said such is one of the process to internalize engineering qualification in order to enhance mobility of all engineering practitioners by becoming a provisional signatory to Washington Accord.
According to COREN,’ the terms of refrence for this Committee is to review the existing guidelines and develop regulations and new guidlines to enhance the process and procedure for the registration of engineering practitioners and Firms in Nigeria.
The Washington Accord Application Commitees has nine members with Enger Prof John Olorunmaiye as the Chairman while the Committee On Regulation and Guidlines For Registration also have Nine Members with Engr.Vernatius Igiri is the Chairman.
