Kebbi State Solicitor General and the Chairman Due Process, Barr. .Aminu Usman has condemned the strike embarked on by the Judiciary council at the state level.
He made this condemnation yesterday at the Government House, BIrnin Kebbi while addressing news men over the strike.
He said that it is unconstitutional that if the Federal workers were on strike, state workers were not supposed to join them because they are not under court.
“Am not in support of the strike at the state level because the strike only affect the Federal Judiciary not the state, you know that the state is under the state government” he added.
He then called on the union at the State levels to call-off the strike in order to promote the Nigeria Judiciary and bring unity to the country.
2014: NSCDC records 2039 cases in Jigawa
Mr Muhammad Gidado, Jigawa Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), said on Tuesday in Dutse that the command recorded 2039 cases between January and December 2014.
The commandant, who spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the cases involved vandalism, rape, defilement and sexual harassment.
Others were cases relating to fraud, fuel diversion, drug peddling, theft, kidnapping, robbery, sabotage among others.
Gidado said that the arrests were made through surveillance and intelligence reports received by the corps across the state.
He explained that 48 per cent of the cases were charged to court out of which 36 per cent were convicted, while 11 per cent were awaiting trial.
The commandant added that 27 per cent out of the total cases were settled out of court by the command’s Dispute and Conflict Resolution Unit (DCRU).
According to him, the success recorded by the command, was as a result of understanding, cooperation and assistance received from the people of the state, and urged them to maintain the tempo. (NAN)
