Elites in Kano, under the aegis of Kano Professional Forum, a composition of former presidents of professional bodies who are indigenes of Kano and Jigawa States, is working to bridge professional gap between indigenes of Kano and Jigawa states with other parts of the country.
At a mentoring program for young and upcoming professionals holding for the second time in Kano on Sunday, with participants drawn from various professions, Dr Shamsuddeen Usman, former Minister of Budget and Planning, lamented what he described as the lackadaisical behavior of their people towards professionalism.
Speaking to newsmen after a long session of mentoring speeches delivered by past and present presidents of professional organization like NBA, NSE, ICAN, NIA, NMA, NUJ, NPA, COREN and others, Usman, who is the chairman of the forum explained that they are out to mentor the young ones, especially university students, drawn from various field including, engineering, medicine, pharmacy, architecture, mass com, law, management courses and various others and guide them on the challenges ahead.
The President of Nigerian Economic Society, explained further that the forum also guides the the teeming young professionals of the various opportunities that exist in their various professions and how to exploit them.
