Niger Police assures on peaceful yuletide

The Niger State Police Command has mapped out strategies to secure lives and properties of the citizenry residents in the state in order to ensure a peaceful yuletide celebration throughout the state.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Adamu Usman, gave the assurance in a statement, issued and made available to Journalists on Tuesday in Minna, the state capital by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) of the Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Uthman Umar Olansile.
The release added that adequate Police personnel drawn from Anti- Bomb Section, Counter Terrorism Unit, Mobile Police, Conventional Police and plain cloth Operatives will be deployed to Churches, Motor parks, Recreation centres, major roads,and Amusement parks across the state during the Christmas and New Year celebration to ensure hitch- free celebration.
The Command however reminded all Nigerlites on the need to maintain Law and Order before, during and after the festivities, while worshipers were enjoined to always be vigilant and report any suspicious persons to the Police for necessary action.
CP, Adamu Usman, thereby called on parents and guardians to warn their children and wards against the use of fireworks for the celebrations adding that any person or group of persons caught engaging in any act of violence or lawlessness capable of disrupting the celebrations will face the full wrath of the law.
The Police Boss, while felicitating with the good people of Niger state wished everyone a joyful Christmas and prosperous New year.
