Respect the rule of law, textile workers tell Sowore

The General Secretary of National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN),
Comrade Aremu Issa has called on the embattled Sahara Reporter’s Publisher, Omoyele Sowore to obey the rules of law by respecting the democratic process in the country as the only way to change government.
He stated this while speaking to the media in Kaduna on Monday.
According to him, while the government is duty-bound to obey court orders, it is also the responsibility of the citizens to act within the lay down rules and regulations in the country.
He explained that Sowore contested in 2019 presidential election which is his fundamental rights, but calling for revolution now is undemocratic.
The NUTGTWN scribe further stated that while the labour his putting pressure on the government to release Sawore he advised him to ensure that his actions are in line with the rules of law.
“ I contested for in the 2019 gubernatorial election because I did not get it I should start advocating for the destruction of the system, that will be undemocratic.
“After many military coup and crisis in the country we have accepted the reality that the only legitimate way to change the Government is through democracy process and not revolution now,” he said.
Aremu who was a the commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) organized by National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN) saidd the Textile Workers decided to celebrate with persons living with disabilities because there is ability in disability.
Aremu called on Government to approve a special minimum wages for the IDPD .
Speaking earlier, a representative of deaf people in kaduna State Mohammed Abubakar appealed to government at all levels to employ sign language interpreters in all public facilities to ease their communication.
