The Jigawa State Police Command said, two suspects were arrested for allegedly kidnaping of a lawmaker’s wife, Hajiya Zahra’u Aliyu Haruna last Saturday.
The Commissioner of Police, Usman Gomna confirmed the arrest while speaking to news men at a valedictory ceremony held at Police Headquarters Dutse.
According to him, though the victim is yet to be released but, the kidnappers demanded ransom from the relatives.
He said effort is still on to rescue the victim as more policemen were deployed to the area.
While speaking on the new promoted officer, CP Gomna urged them to double their efforts and the nation diligently.
He then called on people in the state to cooperate with police for a better safety of lives and properties in the state.
