PDP, APC in war mood over Jigawa bye-election

Both the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said they are ready for the conduct of bye-election to replace late Hon. Muhammed Fagen Gawo, lawmaker from Jigsaw state, who died recently.
The bye-election followed the death of Alhaji Muhammed Fagen Gawo a federal lawmaker from Garki/Babura constituency in Jigawa state.
The APC which is the ruling party in the state, slated monday 16th February, 2020 for the conduct of the primary election.
The party were said to have chosen Alhaji Sunusi Muhammed Adamu, the son of the late member, while Eng. Idris Babura, who was a former NNPC staff, has also purchased the nomination and expression of interest form for the position of House of Representatives.
Similarly, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) slated tuesday 17th february, 2020 for the conduct of primary election.
In PDP, Alhaji Nasuru Garba Dantiye, was said to have indicated interest to contest in the primaries.
Dantiye, a two term House of Representatives member from 1999, in the then All Nigerian People Party (ANPP), will be contesting to reclaim the seat against the APC member, Alhaji Sunusi Muhammed, who would be relying on the ruling party and his father’s political goodwill.
The two political parties at the weekend bragged to beat each other and claim the seat to replace the late member who died after a protracted ailment at a hospital in Dubai.
