Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, recently returned to Sokoto after performing Umrah in the holy land and visited several families to offer condolences over the death of their loved ones.
The condolence visits were disclosed in a statement issued on Friday in Sokoto by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa.
According to the statement, Governor Aliyu first visited the family of the late Sir Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, Sardaunan Sokoto, who died a few days ago.
He also visited the family of the late former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu, who recently passed away.
The governor further extended his condolences to the District Head of Wamakko, Alhaji Ahmed Barade, over the death of his daughter, Rashida.
He also condoled with the Sokoto State Chief Judge, Justice Sa’idu Muhammad Sifawa, over the death of his wife, Hajiya Aisha.
At Kofar Taramniya, Governor Aliyu visited his in-law, Alhaji Abubakar Attahiru, to sympathise with him over the death of his younger sister, Hajiya Halima Sani, popularly known as Yar Dubu.
The governor also visited the family of the late Umaru Ladan of Kwanar Majema, who died at the age of 55 and is survived by his wife and 10 children.
At each of the families visited, prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased, while the governor prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved families.
