The national President Justice, Peace and Pacific Resolution Forum of Nigeria (JPPRFN), Professor Kabiru Umar Jabaka has described Zamfara State as one constitutionally recognized state but being administered by two governors.
In a statement by Professor Jabaka, Zamfara State is governed by the constitutionally recognized Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle on the other side, while the other is illegally immediate past Governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.
“The backdrop however behind this is the covetous cling of the immediate past governor of the state to lifelong rule in action. This makes unable to come to terms with the tangible reality of qualifying as a past governor.
“This is unfortunately the kind gamut that displays Zamfara State today. A shameless express craze and desperation of clinging unto pose lifelong. A normal rational thinking man sees no condition as permanent as life itself is ephemeral.
“We say no to violence and disarray. Past leaders are past leaders and should learn to restrain from meddling into governance from their predecessors.
“We hence appeal to all concerned with the regulation and custody of this authority to intervene before the issue gets out of hand. A fire is quenched when it is small.
“He still wants siren sang behind him, moving with a long motorcade, giving orders to all and sundry. But the reality does not translate to this. This thus results in an anarchical arena and a spectrum of confusion. One state with two sitting governors by implication. In reality the authorized de jure while the self-imposed de facto”, Jabaka decried.
