LG Electronics has received recognition for its MoodUP Refrigerator at the BRANDCOM Awards 2026 in Lagos, with the company highlighting its focus on smart technology, energy efficiency and durability in home appliances.
The award ceremony was held on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The MoodUP Refrigerator features customisable LED door panels, smart connectivity and a design that allows users to personalise the appearance of their kitchen appliance.
LG said the recognition reflected its continued investment in refrigeration technology aimed at meeting consumers’ changing needs.
Speaking on the award, the General Manager, Home Appliances Solutions, LG Electronics, Oktai Kim, said innovation should deliver practical benefits to consumers.
“Innovation is most meaningful when it improves everyday life for consumers. The recognition of LG MoodUP™ reflects our commitment to developing technologies that respond to changing lifestyles and expectations,” Kim said.
He said the company remained focused on providing Nigerian consumers with refrigeration solutions that combine efficient performance, reliability and lasting value.
“Our goal is to ensure that innovation is not only admired but experienced every day in homes across the country,” he added.
LG said its refrigerator range covered different household needs, with top-freezer, bottom-freezer, side-by-side and premium models available.
The company cited its GN-F452PFAQ Top Freezer Refrigerator as an example, noting that its FRESH Converter+™ technology allows users to adjust temperature settings to suit different food types.
The model also features an automatic ice maker.
According to LG, selected refrigerator models incorporate technologies such as Smart Inverter Compressor™, LINEARCooling™ and DoorCooling+™ to support energy-efficient operation, consistent cooling and food freshness.
Some premium models also feature InstaView™ Door-in-Door, smart connectivity and advanced water-dispensing systems.
The company said such features were intended to address consumer concerns about food preservation, energy consumption and appliance performance.
For Nigerian households, the company noted, refrigeration choices increasingly involve considerations beyond the initial purchase price, including running costs, durability and long-term value.
However, LG did not provide specific energy-consumption figures or comparative cost data in its award statement to quantify the savings consumers could achieve with the technologies.
The BRANDCOM 2026 recognition comes as manufacturers continue to compete in the home appliance market through product design, connectivity and energy-efficiency features.
LG said it would continue to develop refrigeration products combining advanced technology with practical household benefits.
