Gov. Buni approves release of funds for immunization, PHC

Yobe State governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved immediate release of the state counterpart fund for the 2020 routine immunization and Primary Health Care program as required in the MoU signed with Aliko Dangote and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations respectfully.
He made the announcement yesterday on the occasion of the 2019 End of Year review program on achievements made and the way forward.
Yobe State government, he said has made significant improvement in areas such as improved defaulter tracking through which 80% of 5,029 identified defaulters were tracked and immunized.
Others includes: improved overall financial management, monitoring and internal auditing, sustained and improved expansion of routine immunization services across the state.
In their separate comments during the video conference review, chairmen of the two Foundations of Dangote, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations, commended Yobe State governor for his steadfastness and resilience in the pursuit of improved health care services, especially immunization aimed at reducing child and maternal mortality in the state.
